Property Description

Simple and classic Bruny holiday shack, priced to sell

This quaint and charming old-style Bruny Island shack sits comfortably above the water on Simpsons Bay Road, sheltered by groves of mature macrocarpa pine trees and facing beautiful views over the bay to the Neck and beyond to Cape Queen Elizabeth.

The neat and tidy weatherboard building has two bedrooms, a practical country kitchen and a sunny living room with wood heater and corner windows to make the most of the all-day sun and scenery. The side entrance door opens into the laundry and bathroom. From the living area, a door gives access to an open deck at the front of the house. The original hardwood floors are just waiting to be sanded and oiled.

Outside, there's a netted veggie garden in a sunny spot at the rear. One plastic rainwater tank is filled from the Colorbond roof, which is in good condition. There's another plastic tank not yet plumbed. And just to complete the package, there's a separate sleepout/bunkroom for extra guests.

Access to the shoreline is via a short, steep track, just across the road from the house.

Simpsons Bay Road is a quiet no through road, just south of The Neck in the middle of the island. The ferry is about half an hour's drive and Alonnah, with its hotel, shop, school and medical centre is only ten minutes away.

This is a fine example of a simple and classic Bruny holiday shack. Properties like this don't come on the market very often and when they do, they attract plenty of interest. Call Jude or Jen to arrange an inspection.
