Things to do in Lindisfarne

Looking for a lively community to be a part of? Lindisfarne has plenty to do with its walking tracks, parks, cafes and community activities.

 

Simmons Park is one of Lindisfarne’s most prominent attractions for families and grandparents taking their grandchildren on a morning trip. Equipped with swings, slides, balance beams, small trampolines, and a giant climbing pyramid, your children will have hours of fun at this much-loved park. The playground is fenced, and they have the necessary facilities, including public toilets, BBQs, picnic tables and car parking.

 

Another park worth visiting is the Beltana Park, opposite the Currancy Cafe. With plenty of space to run around and kick the ball, this is an excellent spot for the kids to stretch their legs!

 

You can visit Lindisfarne Cenotaph and ANZAC Park, one of Clarence Council’s regional parks, featuring a war memorial and playground with swings. You will also find free BBQs, a picnic area, public toilets, walking trails and space for your dog companion to roam off the lead in this area.

 

For those interested in community activities, the Lindisfarne Community Activities Centre on Lincoln Street hosts various events and activities, including the Community Library, the Clarence City Band and the Lindisfarne Historical Society.

Starting at Tianna Road, Natone Hill Circuit is a comfortable walk or bike ride for families. From the top of the reserve, you will appreciate the panoramic views of the Derwent River and Kunanyi/Mount Wellington. During World War II, army reservists created wartime bunkers as a training exercise that can still be viewed today.

 

You can also walk or cycle along the foreshore trail, passing under the Tasman Bridge and going as far as Bellerive Beach and Howrah Beach via the CBD of Rosny Park.
