Celebrating National Volunteers Week
Giving back to our community in Southern Tasmania
Period: May 20th - May 26th, 2024 | By Fall Real Estate
As we celebrate National Volunteers Week, it’s important to reflect on the significant impact that volunteering has on our communities. At Fall Real Estate, we are passionate about giving back and supporting the causes that make a difference. This week is an excellent opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of volunteering and to encourage everyone to find a charity or cause close to their heart.
The importance of volunteering
Volunteering is more than just giving time; it’s about building stronger communities, fostering empathy, and creating positive change. Whether it’s a small act of kindness or a long-term commitment, every effort counts. Volunteering not only benefits those in need but also provides a sense of fulfilment and purpose to the volunteers themselves.
Proud to be part of:
- Better Challenge: Our team participated in the Better Challenge, a walk, run or bike campaign that raises funds for the Kids Cancer Project. You can learn more about our efforts here.
- Blood Donations: We encourage our staff to take time out of their workday to visit the blood bank in Hobart. Giving blood is a simple yet powerful way to save lives. Find out more about donating blood here.
- Tassie Mums Coats for Kids: We have opened our Fall Real Estate offices as drop-off points for the Tassie Mums’ Coats for Kids campaign. This initiative collects warm clothing for children in need. More information can be found here.
- Elyse Lamprill and the Property Management Team: Elyse and her team are participating in the City to Casino event to raise money for R U OK, a charity focused on mental health awareness. Support their efforts here.
- Larissa Preist: Larissa volunteers with Heroes in Hospitals, visiting patients dressed in cosplay to bring joy and comfort. Discover more about her work here.
- Lynette Oakley: Lynette is a dedicated blood and plasma donor, having donated 52 times. She also contributes her time to Coast Care, helping preserve our beautiful Tasmanian coastline.
- Andrea Cooper: Andrea regularly donates to the Kids Cancer Project and raises awareness for the Dogs Home of Tasmania, supporting vulnerable children and animals.
- Jason Andrikonis: Jason supports his local footy team by donating $100 for every referral he receives, enhancing community sports resources and opportunities.
- Sonia Jack: volunteers every Sunday at Eastern Shore Dog Club, as a helper and class instructor. They support members of the community with training their dogs, as well as trying to offer education in dog behaviour and welfare.
Find a cause: Identify a cause that you are passionate about, whether it’s supporting a local charity, mentoring youth, or helping at community events.
Donate: If you’re short on time, consider donating to charities that align with your values.
Spread awareness: Use your social media platforms to raise awareness about the causes you care about and encourage others to join you.
Volunteering enriches our lives and strengthens our communities. We encourage everyone to take a step towards making a positive impact. Together, we can make a difference.
